Matthew Hand, Director of Emerald Leaf Cannabis Consulting, brings over 20 years of experience in psychology and human behaviour, complemented by five years of leadership in the nutraceutical industry.
This unique combination of expertise provides a deep understanding of both the scientific and commercial aspects of the medicinal cannabis sector.
With a career spanning clinical practice, research, and corporate advisory roles, Matthew has developed a strong foundation in evidence-based decision making, regulatory compliance, and strategic business development.
His work in the nutraceutical industry involved guiding product development, market strategy, and regulatory adherence, equipping them with practical insights into bringing health-related products from concept to market.

Emerald Leaf Founder and Chief Operations Officer, Martin Timchur

Together with Matthew Hand, Martin has created one of Australia’s leading consulting companies specialising in the export of high quality Australian grown medical grade cannabis to Europe and North America.
Martin is also a founder and shareholder in Cannabiz Australia Pty Ltd , which produces the high quality, indoor grown Medcinal Cannabis and has a long history in healthcare as the CEO of Vivatus Health, a multidisciplinary allied health aggregation with a focus on Physiotherapy, Chiropractic and Osteopathic primary care.
Martin is a former founder and Director of Clinical Imaging at Professional Radiology Outcomes, specialising in Radiology Reporting for the Chiropractic, Dental, Veterinary and Medical Professions.
He is experienced in health start-ups and takes a real hands-on approach to strategic innovation bringing new ideas and solutions to industry, and has experience in across a range of industries including Mining, Tertiary Education, Primary Care Medicine and allied health. He is a former Senior Lecturer in diagnostic imaging at Central Queensland University, New Zealand College of Chiropractic and the University of Glamorgan (2004 – 2007).
Prior to that Martin lectured at Macquarie University in orthopaedics and biomechanics. He undertook his Radiology residency training at the University of South Wales from 2004 – 2007. He holds degrees in Occupational Health, post-graduate Engineering (Risk Management), a Masters of Applied Science in Medical Image Interpretation, a Masters of Chiropractic and regularly publishes in chiropractic and medical peer reviewed journals.
He is also the first chiropractic radiologist in Australia to report on chiropractic images through a mainstream medical imaging conglomerate. Martin was an expert panel member of the ACA National Diagnostic Imaging Committee advising on all aspects of diagnostic imaging for the Chiropractic Profession and advises on medico-legal liability cases. He is a former Treasurer of the ACA (Qld)
